PARIS (Reuters) – The governor of the Bank of France, Francois Villeroy de Galhau, said on Tuesday that a meeting of G7 finance ministers in Germany this week could discuss discussions Regulatory issues for cryptoassets.
“What has happened recently is a wake-up call to the urgent need for global regulation,” Villeroy told the Emerging Markets conference in Paris, referring to the recent turmoil in crypto-asset markets.
“Europe has paved the way for MICA (regulatory framework for crypto assets) and we will probably… discuss these issues at the G7 meeting in Germany this week,” he added.
