Gold jumps Rs 592; silver rallies Rs 1,335

Gold jumps Rs 592; silver rallies Rs 1,335


Gold prices in the Indian capital rose 592 rupees to 51,750 rupees per 10 grams on Thursday, as international precious metal prices rose, according to securities firms. In previous trades, gold settled at Rs 51,158 per 10 grams.

Silver also surged by Rs 1,335 to Rs 56,937 per kilo from Rs 55,602 in the previous session.

In international markets, gold rose to $1,747 an ounce, while silver was flat at $19.38 an ounce.

“Gold rose after the Fed raised key interest rates by 75 basis points as expected,” said Tapan Patel, senior analyst (commodities) at HDFC Securities.
