NEW DELHI: Gold rose Rs 605 to Rs 51,627 per 10 grams in the nation’s capital on Friday as international precious metal prices rose, according to data from HDFC Securities. In previous trades, the precious metal settled at Rs 51,022 per 10 grams.
Silver also rose by Rs 1,596 to Rs 65,207 per kilo from Rs 63,611 in the previous session.
In international markets, gold rose to $1,916 an ounce, while silver was flat at $23.49 an ounce.
“Gold prices were higher, with spot gold on COMEX rising 1.16% to $1,916 an ounce on Friday. As worrying U.S. economic data rekindled interest in the safe-haven metal, a surge in geopolitical tensions also boosted Gold prices rose Friday to buy gold,” said Tapan Patel, senior analyst (commodities) at HDFC Securities.
