Missiles hit the western Ukrainian city of Lviv early Friday, and Mayor Andrei Sadovy said the missile hit an unknown target near Lviv airport, less than four miles from the city center. A U.S. citizen was killed in Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a news conference on Thursday, and multiple reports said the American was killed in the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, local police quoted local officials as saying. Police said the cause of death was Russian artillery fire. The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted Thursday to rescind normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus, paving the way for higher tariffs on goods from those countries.
