Samsung’s new folding mobile phone products are estimated to ship 10 million units this year | Anue Juheng – Eurasian Shares

Samsung Electronics is actively deploying the folding mobile phone market. South Korean media The Elec reported today (22) that the market expects that Samsung folding mobile phones will ship 10 million units this year, of which new phones will account for 80%, an increase of 13% over last year. However, due to the boom , inflation and other factors, shipments were much lower than the original target of 15 million units.

Lu Genchang, director of research at Hyundai Motor Securities, said that Samsung is expected to ship 10 million foldable mobile phones this year, of which the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 launched this year are expected to ship 8 million units, and the previous generation models will ship 2 million units. tower.

Lu Genchang estimates that Samsung’s foldable mobile phone shipments will reach 15 million units next year, an annual increase of 50%, of which 10 million units of new models to be launched next year will be shipped.

Lu Genchang said that Samsung’s total mobile phone shipments this year were 269.1 million units, a decrease of 0.9% year-on-year, of which 62 million units were shipped in the second quarter, which was the low point of this year. Taiwan, Samsung’s mobile phone shipments next year are expected to be 279.5 million units, an increase of 3.9% over this year.

As for Apple, Lu Genchang believes that this year’s iPhone shipments are estimated to reach 229.6 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%, of which 75.7 million units are expected to be shipped in the fourth quarter, and next year’s iPhone shipments are estimated to reach 236.4 million units, an annual increase of 3 %.

The shipments of Chinese brands VIVO, Xiaomi and OPPO will continue to grow against the trend next year. Lu Genchang believes that the three major Chinese brands are actively seizing the original Huawei mobile phone market, but there is still room for growth due to excess inventory. Overall, Lu Genchang expects global mobile phone shipments to reach 1.35 billion units next year, an annual increase of 3.6%.
