Woman detained after hours of standoff at McDonald’s restaurant in Orlando
A woman has been detained after a nearly six-hour standoff at a McDonald’s in Orlando. At 10:35 p.m. Saturday, deputies received an armed robbery call at a McDonald’s on South Orange Blossom Trail near Houghton Avenue. The sheriff’s office said the woman, in her 30s, opened fire from inside the restaurant and made threatening remarks, they said. The delegates fired back. All are safe and sound. All employees and customers were able to leave safely. The woman surrendered at about 4.45am and was taken into custody. The three representatives involved are now on paid administrative leave as the investigation progresses.
